AUDITIONS FOR THE 2026-27 SEASON
The University of Delaware Dance Team is thrilled to announce an important change to our recruitment process for auditions for the 2026-27 season. In response to feedback and in an effort to make the audition process more accessible to all potential team members, we are shifting from an in-person audition format to a hybrid recruitment process. The hybrid process will include:
- Recruitment Clinics - Attend at least one in person fall or spring recruitment clinic.
- September 14th, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- November 15th, 2025 - 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- February 21, 2026 - 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- March 14, 2026 - 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Video Submissions – Submit your audition video, allowing us to evaluate your performance from a distance. - DUE FEBRUARY 1
- Videos will be submitted via email to officialdanceteam@udel.edu
- Video requirements (accepting common app videos)
- Introduction stating your name
- Year going into college
- Why you would like to be on UD Dance Team
- Submit a one minute solo video of your choice in style
- Required Turns
- Right side triple (3) pirouette
- One turn combo showcasing a variety of a la seconds, including changing spots (two eight-count minimum)
- Required Acro
- Aerial (right, left or both)
- Head Spring
- Kip Up
- Required Leaps
- Right jete
- Left jete
- Right open second leap
- Left open second leap
- Calypso
- Firebird
- Switch tilt/Arabesque (either side)
- Toe touch
- Optional Skills
- Flexibility features (legs, back, etc.)
- Additional advanced turn combos
- Additional advanced jump/leap combo
- Required Turns
- Mandatory In Person Audition Day – Join us for an in person audition day where you'll be selected to participate in a live session with our coaches, allowing us to see your technique, skills, and personality in action.
