The Student Tailgate Lot is back—and bigger than ever! This season, Delaware students can enjoy an elevated game day experience with live music, games, activities, food, and a massive video screen showing games from across the country.
It’s the perfect spot to meet up with friends before the game, grab some food, play a few games, and watch all the action on the big screen. Whether you’re swapping predictions, listening to music, or just enjoying the pregame buzz, the Student Tailgate Lot is where a Blue Hen game day gets started.

The Student Tailgate Lot is open to ALL students, with spaces available for purchase for registered student organizations, Greek life, and individual student groups. The lot opens three hours before every home football game. Enter using the walking path between Bob Hannah Stadium and the turf practice fields (see map below). Bring your UDID card and your free student game ticket, which you can claim at BlueHens.com/student, to get in.


The Student Tailgate Lot offers 8 reserved spaces for registered student organizations, Greek life, and student groups looking to host a tailgate at a Delaware Football game.
Space Options:
Basic Package – $100: 1 parking space, 5 meal vouchers, and bring-your-own tailgating equipment
Premium Package – $250: 1 parking space, 10 meal vouchers, a 10' x 10' tent, 8' table, and 6 chairs
Click the button below to purchase your space. Groups may reserve multiple spaces per game. Once purchased, a Delaware Athletics Marketing staff member will contact you to confirm your tailgate details. All spaces must be paid in advance via JV transfer (for RSOs) or credit card.
A football game ticket is required to tailgate in the Student Tailgate Lot. All student tickets are free and can be reserved at BlueHens.com/student.


Q. Where is the Student Tailgate Lot located?
It is located in the single game parking lot behind Bob Hannah Stadium. Please see the map below for more clarity.
Q. How do I purchase a tailgating space?
Tailgate spaces can be purchase via the button above or by logging into your student ticket account here. Spaces are sold in basic and premium options. 8 tailgate spaces are available to be purchased for all games this season (not including 9/13 vs. UCONN.
All sales are nonrefundable.
Q. What items can I bring to my tailgate space?
You can bring items including but not limited to tents, speakers, drink coolers, small generators (up to 8W-6kW), gas or electric grills (no charcoal), chairs, tables (up to 8ft), lawn games, food, and drinks into the Student Tailgate space.
In order to bring these bulk items, you MUST be a part of a paid tailgate space.
Q. Where can I park?
Space reservations include one parking space. The parking location for these spaces is depicted on the map below and will be assigned once your tailgate space is confirmed.
If you are attending a tailgate in the Student Tailgate Lot, single game parking is available for all students starting at $10 and can be purchased here.
Q. Do I need to purchase a tent package to reserve a space?
Tent packages are optional but all spaces must be purchased. If you purchase a space without a tent package, you can bring your own tent and equipment. Please see the space options listed above.
Individuals not purchasing a tent or a space are welcome in the lot but access to a tailgate space is dependent upon the group who purchased that space.
Q. When does the Student Tailgate Lot open and close?
The lot opens three hours before kick-off. Once the game begins all students are encouraged to enter the game. After the game, tailgates can resume for up to two (2) hours.
Q. Will there be a place for me to dispose of my trash?
Yes, trash and recycling bags will be handed out upon arrival. Please use these bags to dispose of all items coming from your tailgate. If you need more trash or recycling bags, please speak with a tailgate lot attendant.
It is the responsibility of all tailgate members to leave their space orderly and return all rented equipment before leaving the game. If a space is left messy or rented equipment is lost/stolen/damaged, the tailgate group will be responsible for the cost of cleaning or replacement.
Q. Will someone watch my tailgate when attending the Football game?
No, it is up to the members of each tailgate space to secure their items if they leave their tailgate space. All tailgate members are free to come and go from their space to secure items in their cars. UD Athletics is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items within the Student Tailgate Lot.
Q. Are restrooms available in the parking lot?
Yes, portable restrooms will be available in the Student Tailgate Lot.
Q. What should we do in case of an emergency?
In the event of a police, fire or medical emergency, call 911. Provide your exact tailgate space number and location to the dispatcher.
It is recommended that all vehicles/spaces have a fire extinguisher in case of emergency, especially for tailgaters that are grilling.
