Chase McGowan

Chase McGowan joined the Delaware staff as a defensive analyst in June 2026. He assists the team’s cornerbacks.
A four-time All-CAA selection, McGowan made his mark on the Delaware football program as a student-athlete from 2019-23. McGowan ranks fourth all-time in program history in sacks (22) and fifth all-time in program history in TFLs (40). His 16 TFLs in 2023 hold the No. 4 spot in the UD record book for a single season. McGowan was an integral part of the defense that won the 2020 CAA Conference Championship.
McGowan comes to Newark after spending two seasons playing professional football in the Arena Football League (AFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). In his lone season with the Billings Outlaws of the AFL, McGowan won the 2024 AFL Championship. McGowan spent the 2025 campaign with the Ottawa Redblacks of the CFL.
In between his professional football stints, McGowan worked as a personal trainer, continuing the path he began as a student at UD when he was a strength and conditioning intern for multiple athletic programs.
A Stafford, Va. native, McGowan earned his bachelor's degree in behavioral health science from Delaware in 2023.
