Jourdan Townsend joined the football coaching staff in July 2024 as an offensive analyst. He will assist with the team's wide receivers and special teams.
Townsend joins the coaching staff after a stellar playing career for the Blue Hens in which he finished ranked 11th in program history in career receptions (140) and 14th in career receiving yards (1,662). The four-time All-CAA selection led the offense in both receptions and receiving yards in both the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
In his final season, Townsend led a deep UD receiving corps with 49 catches for 661 yards on the season, including 10 catches for 97 yards in two FCS playoff games. On special teams, Townsend averaged 13.9 yards on punt returns and had his first career return for a touchdown on an 82-yard score at Hampton.
In May, Townsend earned an invitation to attend rookie minicamp with the Cleveland Browns.
A native of Farrell, Pennsylvania, Towsend graduated from Farrell High School.
