AT DELAWARE
Third-year member of the squad as a junior linebacker and defensive end • athletic, tenacious defender who excels at getting to the quarterback • projected to start at outside linebacker spot (Kat) in new 3-4 defense • dynamic player with good size • runs hard and is relentless on defense • plays sideline to sideline • has played in 21 career games as a backup and contributed 30 tackles (22 solo) • also has seven quarterback sacks for 48 yards and two forced fumbles.
2016 SEASON
Had a breakout season as a sophomore • backup linebacker who proved to be one of the most efficient pass rushers in the Colonial Athletic Association • after missing season opener, played in final 10 games and recorded 19 tackles (13 solo) • of his 19 tackles, an incredible seven of them were sacks for 48 yardss • led team in sacks and ranked third in the CAA in that category • recorded a career-high five tackles vs. Lafayette and added three stops against Wake Forest, Albany, and Villanova • had a sack in five games with a career-high two each vs. Lafayette (17 yards) and Towson (11 yards) • forced fumbles vs. Lafayette and Towson • part of defense that ranked No. 6 in the CAA in total defense (349.7 yards allowed per game) • named Blue Hen Touchdown Club Most Improved Special Teams Player for spring drills • had two tackles in the Blue-White Spring Game in May.
2015 SEASON
One of seven true freshmen to see action on defense for Delaware • also played a key role on special teams • played in all 11 games in a backup role at outside linebacker and recorded 11 tackles (nine solo) • had one tackle for loss vs. New Hampshire • had season-high three tackles each vs. Rhode Island and James Madison • started slow but came on at end of season and had all 11 tackles over the final six games • part of a unit that ranked No. 5 in the CAAn and 24th in the NCAA in total defense (329.2) and was No. 3 in both rushing defense (123.5/17th in NCAA) and scoring defense (20.5/22nd in NCAA).
HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year starter at middle linebacker, defensive end, and running back at Deer Park High School • played for head coach Ron Langella and helped lead the team to three winning seasons, including a 6-2 mark in 2014 • team captain • earned All-Suffolk County, All-Section 11 Conference, All-Long Island, and All-Metro honors as a senior • earned the Rob Burnett Award presented to the top defensive player in Suffolk County as a senior • rushed for 1,624 yards and 19 touchdowns and registered 76 tackles, five sacks, and two fumble recoveries as a senior • also earned Bob Collotta Award as top linebacker in Suffolk County as a senior • member of the Varsity Leaders Club.
