AT DELAWARE
Four-time letter winner with the Blue Hens • tied for 12th in Delaware record books with 115 career goals tallied and 19th in school history with 42 career draw controls • also 20th with 137 career points scored • finished career with 67 games played, a mark good to tie for 26th all-time • recorded at least one point in 42 straight games to wrap collegiate career • also posted a streak of 38 games with at least one goal during her tenure at Delaware • 16 career hat tricks • Second Team All-CAA honoree (2013).
2014 SEASON
Played in all 17 games while starting 16 • placed second on the team with 14 assists • tallied a career-best 44 points, a mark good to tie for third for the Blue Hens and 150th in the NCAA • fourth overall with 30 goals on the year • averaged 2.59 points (ninth CAA; 136th NCAA), 2.12 goals (10th CAA; 98th NCAA) and 0.82 assists (eighth CAA; 128th NCAA) per game • registered a career-high four assists and seven points against CAA foe William & Mary on April 13 • joined 100 career goal club with two tallies in team’s 16-9 win at Temple on March 15 • recorded 10 multiple goal games • posted two goals in CAA semifinals loss to James Madison on May 2.
2013 SEASON
All-CAA 2nd Team selection • started all 16 games for the Blue Hens as a junior • tied for second on the team with 41 points scored (179th NCAA) • finished second for Delaware with 38 goals (90th NCAA) • collected 2.38 goals per game, good for fourth in the CAA and 75th in the NCAA • tied for eighth in the league with 2.56 points per game (158th NCAA) • registered nine free position goals • placed fifth with 10 caused turnovers • posted a 79.3 shot on goal percentage • tallied a career-best seven hat tricks • recorded at least four goals in three separate games • registered a career-high five goals in 17-7 victory over Lehigh (March 5) • collected a career-best four groundballs at La Salle (March 1) • saw four draw controls and three caused turnovers against Old Dominion on (April 12).
2012 SEASON
Started 16 of 17 games played • led Blue Hens with 41 points, 101 shots and 79 shots on goal • tied for lead on team with 35 goals (122nd NCAA) • second on team with six assists and eight free position goals (on 18 free position shots) • finished sixth in the CAA with 2.06 goals per game (119th NCAA) and 10th in the league with 2.41 points per contest (188th NCAA) • collected first career hat trick with three goals in Delaware’s 11-7 win over Villanova on Feb. 22 • scored a total of five hat tricks, including four-goal games against Lehigh (Feb. 25), at Temple (March 17), at Old Dominion (April 6) and George Mason (April 22) • posted at least one goal in 16 games, including a current scoring streak of 10 games • tallied a career-high two assists and six points at Temple (March 17) • saw a career-high 10 shots with nine on goal against Lehigh (Feb. 25) • collected a career-high three groundballs at George Mason on April 22.
2011 SEASON
Saw action in 17 games and made five starts as a freshman • scored 12 goals and recorded one assist for 13 points on the season • ranked sixth on the team in goals • took 36 shots, of which 25 were on goal • collected five groundballs and recorded four caused turnovers on the year • scored two goals against La Salle and Rutgers.
HIGH SCHOOL
Played attack for four seasons at Villa Maria Academy in Malvern, Pa. for head coach Christa Somits • named honorable All-America in senior year while also earning Athletic Association of Catholic Academies first team honors in 2009 and 2010 • named to first team All-Main Line squad • Catholic League All-Star from 2008-10 • helped lead team to league finals all four seasons • also played right wing for two seasons on field hockey team, leading team to league title in 2007 • faced off against former teammate Kyrstin Mackrides, who played at William & Mary.
PERSONAL
Chelsea Ann Fay • daughter of James and Monique Fay • has two younger siblings, Katelyn and Mike • sister, Katelyn, plays women’s lacrosse at La Salle • chose Delaware because it is close to home and provides a great education • began playing lacrosse in third grade • lists mother as biggest influence because she taught her how to play the sport and has supported her • honor student as an elementary education major and history minor at Delaware • aspires to become a grade school teacher • coaches the Sepa Club team.
