Patty Post was named Delaware’s Director of Golf Programs in May 2017 and oversees all aspects of both the men’s and women’s golf teams. Post continues to serve as the women’s head coach, a position she has held since 2011-12, the program’s inaugural season.

On the women’s side, Post has led the Blue Hens to immense success in the program’s short history. Under her leadership, the women’s squad has won 15 team tournament titles, including defending its home turf at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational three times (2013, 2024, 2025). The team has recorded 76 top-five finishes and claimed 12 individual medalist honors. Delaware has won three CAA Championships (2016, 2017, 2024) and advanced to three NCAA Regionals.

The Blue Hens have received plenty of accolades during Post’s tenure. Ariane Klotz (2017) and Thitaree Sakulbunpanich (2018) both took home CAA major awards when they were named CAA Rookie of the Year in consecutive years. Post has coached 18 all-conference selections, with at least one selection every season except for 2020 when COVID cancelled the CAA Championship. Klotz earned three All-CAA First Team nods, and Andi Slane was is one of five other Blue Hens to earn all-conference selections and was a two-time CAA champion, winning the individual title in both 2015 and 2016. Lilia Henkel also claimed CAA medalist honors in 2024.

No stranger to individual hardware herself, Post has been named the CAA Coach of the Year three times (2016, 2017, 2024), following each of the program’s conference championships. She has also been named the LPGA Teaching & Club Professional (T&CP) Regional Coach of the Year (2014, 2018, 2024) three times and was named the LPGA T&CP National Coach of the Year in 2014 after leading Delaware to the program’s first three tournament wins and seven top-five finishes.

Off the golf course, the Blue Hens have had an equal amount of success in the classroom. Delaware has had 31 All-American Scholar honorees, led by four apiece by Henkel and Grace Chua. Chua was also a three-time selection to the CAA All-Academic Team. Baralee Theinthong earned five total All-American Scholar nods with three from the WGCA and two from the NGCA.

Since she began working with the men’s program in 2017, the Blue Hens have had 14 top-five placings, including eight in 10 tournaments during the 2024-25 season, three runner-up finishes and a two team victories, including winning the inaugural Blue Hen Intercollegiate in September 2025. Delaware has had five all-conference selections, while Casper Nerpin was named the 2022 CAA Rookie of the Year and Roberto Nieves was selected to compete in the 2022 NCAA New Haven Regional as an individual.

The UD men have set program records for the 18-hole team round (267 at the 2020 Loyola Intercollegiate), the 36-hole team score (551 at the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge), and the 54-hole team score (834 at the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge). Additionally, the 2019-20 squad set a school record with a 74.21 team stroke average.

Prior to coming to Delaware, Post served as the women’s golf head coach at Georgetown University from 2006-11. She guided a young program that has become one of the best in the BIG EAST Conference and in the region.

In her six years leading the Hoyas, Post led the program to 14 top-five finishes and a victory at the Northern Illinois Huskie Invite during the 2008-09 season. Georgetown finished third at the 2009 Big East Championships and Post was named the LPGA Northeast Section Coach of the Year.

Post coached three All-Big East selections including consecutive first team honors for Chelsea Curtis in 2008 and 2009. The Hoyas also had 12 NGCA All-American Scholar selections during Post’s tenure.

Georgetown also served as the team host for the 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at Caves Valley Golf Course in Owings Mills, Md.

Before Georgetown, Post was the assistant golf professional at Lakewood Country Club (Rockville, Md.) from 2004-05, where she ran weekly tournaments, provided lessons, conducted clinics and assisted in the merchandising for the golf shop. Post also spent two years (2003-04) at Admiral's Cove Golf Club (Jupiter, Fla.) and was the teaching professional at Fair Oaks Golf Park (Fairfax, Va.) from 2001-05.

Post has also enjoyed a strong playing career as a professional. In 2008, while coaching the Hoyas, Post played in the LPGA's Sybase Classic in May 2008, qualified for the LPGA Championship in June, 2010 and capped off her year by playing in the 40th PGA Professional National Championship. From 2003-05, Post played regularly on the Futures Golf Tour, earning exempt status on the tour that is known as the “Gateway to the LPGA.” She had two top-20 finishes in events during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Her playing resume also includes Runner-up finishes in the Maryland Women's Open from 2003-05, named Middle Atlantic PGA Women's Player of the Year in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2007, named LPGA Northeast Section Teaching and Club Professional Player of the Year in 2007, and was only the second female to qualify for the PGA National Club Professional Championship.

A 1999 kinesiology and zoology graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Post enjoyed a stellar amateur career. She was the Wisconsin Amateur Champion in 1998 and was named the most valuable player on the Wisconsin team in 1997 and 1999. Post won the 1999 Notre Dame Invitational and also earned CoSIDA Academic All-American honors during her career.

Post and her husband, Brendon, the head coach of Delaware’s men’s team, have two daughters, Miranda and Kiera, and a son, Landon.
