Zach Armstrong, a 2020 graduate of the University of Delaware, joined Delaware Athletics full-time in October 2021 as an event manager. He was promoted in October 2025 to Director, Event Operations & Guest Services and currently serves in that role.
In this role, he serves as the lead for all part-time staffing & Guest Services within Delaware's Facilities & Operations department. This role includes managing over 100 part-time event staff and serving as the event manager for several different athletic & external events. This includes but not limited to Delaware football (secondary role), men's basketball, men's lacrosse, women's soccer, DIAA High School Championships (football, basketball, volleyball, softball, field hockey), concerts/shows, numerous lacrosse & football external events, etc. He also has experience serving as the event manager for the 2023 CAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament and the 2022 & 2023 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Opening Rounds at Delaware Stadium.
Zach also serves as the liaison for CSC Security for all varsity and external events.
Prior to being hired in this position, Zach worked in Delaware Athletics as an Events Manager. As a student, he was hired as the Event Operations Intern in Delaware Athletics under the Associate AD of Event Operations & Championships. His main responsibilities included helping coordinate, plan, and execute several of UD’s athletic and external events throughout the spring and fall seasons. He also served as the liaison for all visiting teams and officials, credentials, event staff planning and management, and was the co-liaison for Guest Services during the 2021 football season.
As a student at UD, Armstrong earned an undergrad degree in Sports Management while working part-time as an Athletic Operations staff member/supervisor in Delaware's Facilities and Operations department. He also completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Strategic Leadership at the University of Delaware in 2023.
