Christine Pena joined the University of Delaware in July 2008 as the fitness director for athletics and recreation services. She oversees the student fitness facilities on campus, including the primary fitness center in the Carpenter building and the satellite fitness facilities located in Independence and Harrington. She manages the CrossFit program, group exercise program, personal training, and any special fitness programming such as Top Hen, self-defense, and Lift Like a Girl. In addition, she oversees a staff of student fitness supervisors, group exercise instructors, personal trainers, and CrossFit coaches.
Pena arrived in Newark after spending two years as a fitness specialist at Take Care Health Solutions in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she provided fitness services for the employees of Harrah’s entertainment through equipment orientations, personal training, and customer service.
Pena also worked at Tilton Fitness as a fitness manager for two years, where she recruited and hired personal trainers and fitness instructors.
Christine Pena received her Master of Arts in Health Studies from the University of Alabama in 2004 and graduated from Rowan University in 2002 with a major in health and exercise science.
