ALISON FARRANCE
Women's Indoor Track & Field (1982-86)
Women's Outdoor Track & Field (1982-86)
One of the most outstanding scholar-athletes in the history of women's athletics at the University of Delaware, Alison Farrance earned eight letters in indoor and outdoor track between 1982-86.
Excelling in the triple jump and middle distance running events, Alison served as co-captain for two seasons for each team while leading the indoor squad to East Coast Conference team titles in 1983 and 1984 and the outdoor squad to ECC team titles in 1983 and 1984 and a runner-up finish in 1985.
A 1986 honor graduate, she is one of only two female track & field athletes to earn College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American honors twice as she was a first team pick in both 1985 and 1986.
She also was honored as the ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for outdoor track & field in both 1985 and 1986 - again being one of just two in UD history to earn multiple honors in that category. In addition, she earned the prestigious NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship Award in 1986 and earned the Warner Award as the University's most outstanding female student in 1986.
She captured five conference titles during her career, winning the ECC indoor triple jump title three straight years in 1984-86 and teaming to win two relay titles. She also set four school records, for the outdoor triple jump (37-4) and 400 meters (57.7), and for the indoor triple jump (36-2.75) and 500 meters (1:17.71).
She shared the 1986 UD Alumni Association Team Most Valuable Player Award for outdoor track & field with fellow UD Hall of Famer Candy Cashell in 1986.
