JENNIFER K. RINNANDER
Women’s Lacrosse (1991-94)
Field Hockey (1990-92)
One of the most prolific scorers in the rich history of University of Delaware women’s lacrosse, Jennifer led the Blue Hens in scoring four straight years and finished her career ranked No. 3 all-time at UD in total points.
A native of Media, Pa., she never even played the sport until her sophomore year at Strath-Haven High School when the school’s coach, former Delaware All-American and Hall of Fame member Karen Emas, asked her to try out. A natural talent with great speed and impressive stick skills, Jennifer finished her career with 188 goals and 69 assists for 257 points and still ranks No. 3 all-time at UD in points, No. 4 in goals, and No. 5 in assists. She also registered 35 hat tricks for her career.
The mark of consistency, she tallied 38 goals as a freshman in 1991 and followed with 43 in 1992, 55 in 1993, and 52 in 1994, leading the team each season. Jennifer earned All-American honors three times in her career, gaining second team notice from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in 1994, third team IWLCA accolades in 1992, and U.S. Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association honors in 1994.
In addition, she was a two-time All-Region selection, a three-time first team All-Colonial Athletic Association pick, and a two-time team Most Valuable Player. She led her teams to three post-season conference tournament appearances with the 1994 squad going 11-7 and earning a No. 12 national ranking.
She also played three seasons of field hockey at Delaware, scoring three goals each in 1991 and 1992 before devoting all of her efforts to lacrosse. She earned her degree in human resources from Delaware in 1994.
