Caruso Captures 200m; Prettyman Posts Two Top 15 Finishes for Delaware at Albany Great Dane Classic

NEW YORK -- University of Delaware junior sprinter Vicky Caruso (at right) captured yet another first place finish and sophomore Lindsay Prettyman posted two top 15 finishes to lead the Blue Hen women's indoor track & field team at the Great Dane Classic hosted by the University at Albany Friday at the New York City Armory.
Delaware, which posted seven Top 20 finishes for the day, placed 14th out of 24 teams in the scoring meet with 15 points. Connecticut won the team title with 114.2 points followed by Maryland-Eastern Shore, Villanova, Toledo, and Long Island.
Caruso, who ran her career indoor win total to 26 over three seasons, captured the 200 meters with a time of 24.28 while also posting a 20th place showing in the 60 meters (7.92). She also teamed with Nijah Dupiche, Toresha Foster, and Kelley Donovan for a 14th place finish in the 4 x 400 meter relay (4:03.33).
Prettyman teamed with Sydney Shepherd, Emily Gispert, and Jessica Olsen to post a fourth place finish in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:14.87 and also posted a 14th place showing of her own in the 800 meters (2:18.05).
Also for the Hens, Alexandra Carroll finished 11th in the 500 meters (1:18.12), Jennifer Holly was 19th in the pole vault (10-10), and Gispert finished 24th in the 800 meters (2:22.23).
Delaware will continue a busy weekend Saturday when the Blue Hens compete at both the Lehigh Invitational and at the University of Maryland Invitational.
