NEW YORK -- The University of Delaware women's indoor track and field team closed out the regular season Thursday with several outstanding performances at the Collegiate Challenge Meet at the New York City Armory.
Pole vaulter Jennifer Holly (at right), middle distance runner Lindsay Prettyman, and sprinters Nijah Dupiche and Toresha Foster each qualified for next week's ECAC Championship regional meet at Boston and freshman Kelsey Evancho tied her own school freshman record in the high jump.
“We have nice group of talented athletes heading to ECAC's,” said Delaware head coach Wendy McFarlane. “I am very proud of the team's efforts this season. Everyone has worked hard, and even though some injuries set us back a little, we are still strong as a team and hope to continue this momentum into the ECAC championships next weekend.”
Delaware posted 13 top five finishes led by Holly, who won the pole vault with a leap of 11-9 3/4, and by Latoya James, who won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.64.
