Delaware (2-2) picked up four victories in singles and two in doubles in the win, including three straight wins to close out the 4-6 spots from Nolan Gelman, Ryan Kent (at right), and Jason Darene to help boost the Blue Hens to victory.
Saint Joseph's took singles victories at the one and three spots from Alex Veronis and Tommy Gates, respectively.
Delaware's Adam Lawton saw a 6-3, 6-4 victory over St. Joseph's Jeff Kessler at the No. 2 spot, while Kent and Darene also swept their sets. Gelman came through for the Hens in a gutsy effort as he posted a 6-2 victory in the first set, dropped a 0-6 decision in the second set, and battled back for a 6-4 win to notch the point for Delaware.
In doubles play, Troy Beneck and Adam Lawton combined for the victory in the top flight, while Andre Vorobyov and Ryan Kent were winners in the second flight. The Blue Hens hit the road to take on Navy for a 12 noon match on March 3.
