Delaware Men Netters Post Another Strong Showing, Win Six of Seven Matches in Dual vs. Temple

The Hens will close out the three-day tournament Sunday morning when they take on Saint Bonaventure at 9 a.m.
Delaware won four of the five singles matches and swept the two doubles competition vs. Temple in a match that started outside and finished inside at the Tose Family Tennis Center due to inclement weather.
The Blue Hens won the first four flights in singles as Troy Beneck downed Kacper Rams 6-4, 6-1, Adam Lawton downed Kristian Marquart 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot, Nolan Gelman downed Nicolas Paulas 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 at the No. 3 spot, and Jason Derene (at right) was a 7-5, 6-4 victor over Hicham Belkssir at No. 4. The lone Temple win came at the No. 5 spot where Hernan Vasconez downed Delaware's Evan Andrews 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles play, the Hens won both matches as the team of Beneck and Lawton defeated Paulas and Rams 8-2 and the tandem of Derene and Gelman got past Belkssir and Marquart by a 9-8 (7-1) tally.
