Heavy Rains Force Postponement of Delaware Baseball?s Series Opener at UNCW, Will Play Doubleheader Saturday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Due to heavy amounts of rain, Friday's Colonial Athletic Association baseball weekend series opener between the University of Delaware and UNCW has been postponed.

Riding a 13-game winning streak, Delaware (23-8, 9-3 CAA) will play a doubleheader against UNCW (24-10, 7-1 CAA) on Saturday, April, 13, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at UNCW's Brooks Field. Both games of the doubleheader will be nine-inning contests.

The Blue Hens will send right-handers Chad Kuhl (5-1, 3.59 earned-run average) and Adam Davis (4-3, 4.21 ERA) to the mound in the doubleheader while the Seahawks counter with left-hander Mat Batts (4-2, 2.44 ERA) and right-hander Jordan Ramsey (5-2, 1.60 ERA).

Delaware and UNCW will complete their three-game series on Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. Right-hander Matt Soren (2-1, 1.69 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Blue Hens while lefty Christian McDonald (4-0, 2.91 ERA) will make the start for the Seahawks.
