University of Delaware Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Teams Name Ahrens and Ware Captains for 2014-15 Season

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving teams announced Friday that Lauren Ahrens and Tim Ware have been selected as captains for the 2014-15 season.
Ware (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South), a senior marketing major, posted two top five finishes at the Colonial Athletic Association championships in 2014 when he placed fourth in the 200 medley relay and fifth in the 400 medley relay.
He also competed at the AT&T Winter National Championships in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke and was named the Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week on Dec. 9. A member of the National College Athlete Honor Society, he ranks on the Delaware all-time top 10 lists in the 50, 100, and 200 backstroke and 200 medley relay events.
Ahrens (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South), a senior majoring in health & physical education, is on the Delaware women's all-time top 10 list in the 50 and 100 backstroke and in the 200 individual medley. She also is a member of the National College Athlete Honor Society.
The Blue Hens will open the season Saturday as the men take on Georgetown in a dual meet while the women will face the Hoyas and St. Francis (Pa.) in a tri-meet. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Rawstrom Natatorium.
