Blue Hens Open Season With Tri-Meet Sweep Against Georgetown and St. Francis (Pa.)

Senior captain Timothy Ware and Badsky led the Blue Hens with three race victories each to pace UD to it second straight season-opening win over Georgetown.
The Delaware women (2-0) were able to defeat both opponents Saturday, downing Georgetown by a score of 160-135 and besting St. Francis (Pa.) by a final margin of 194-95.
“We really swam well across the board,” said Hayman who is in his 25th season at Delaware. “There were a lot of races where it was really tight and it felt like we were able to touch first in all of them.”
Alyssa Sanders led the UD women with three first place finishes in the 200 medley relay (1:48.09), 100 backstroke (58.11), and 200 backstroke (2:07.14)
The Blue Hens will return to action Oct. 25 when both teams travel to Virginia to take on former Colonial Athletic Association foe George Mason at 1 p.m. in Fairfax, Va.
