Delaware's Women's Swimming and Diving Team Earns One Win at CAA Pod Meet

WILMINGTON, N.C. - The University of Delaware women's swimming and diving team earned the only team victory for the Blue Hens as UD defeated UNCW 210-143, but fell to both James Madison (219-143) and William & Mary (213-128).
Winning efforts from Hailey Farrell and Brittany Lazear highlighted the women's performance this weekend. The Hens moved their record to 4-2 (1-2 CAA).
Farrell put forth a time of 4:32.71 in the 400 IM, which was good for the win and for her best time in the event this season. Lazear also had top time for 2014-15 as the senior recorded a time of 5:02.27 in her winning effort in the 500 freestyle.
Alyssa Sanders tallied a top performance in the 100 backstroke event as her time of 57.94 was good for a second place finish. Annie Nunes posted top season times in both the 200 IM (2:10.46) and 100 breaststroke (1:06.05) events. Both of those performances earned her third place finishes. With a 1:54.08 finish, Dominique Montoya tallied her best time of the season in the 200 freestyle.
Both Delaware teams will return to action next Saturday as UD hosts a dual meet with LaSalle and Rider. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at Rawstrom Natatorium.
