Delaware Swimmers Take Team Leads, Win Four Events on First Day of F&M Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The University of Delaware men's and women's swimming teams took the first day team lead after the first day of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Friday evening.
The Delaware men had two first place finishes and earned 333 points to take the team lead among nine squads while the Blue Hen women captured two relay events and stand in first place out of 10 teams with 314 points.
The second day of the three-day meet will get underway with preliminary action beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Blue Hen women won both relay events and set pool records in both as the 200 freestyle relay team of Jordan Sawyer, Alyssa Sanders, Dominique Montoya, and Morgan Whyte swam to a winning time of 1:34.30 and the 400 Medley Relay group of Sanders, Annie Nunes, Mina Feyrer, and Whyte posted a winning time of 3:47.90.
Individually, Sarah Braatz led the way with a third place showing in the 1,650 freestyle (17:27.49).
On the men's side, Patrick Savidge won the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 16:02.04 while the 400 medley relay team of Alex Hillsley, Alex Tooley, Tomas Elder, and Nicholas Badsky touched the wall first with a time of 3:24.61.
