CAA Diving Championships Begin Saturday at Delaware?s Rawstrom Natatorium

NEWARK, Del. – For the first time in program history, the University of Delaware will host the Colonial Athletic Association Diving Championships.
The competition, which will begin Saturday, Feb. 21, will be a two-day event with divers competing in the men's and women's 1 and 3-meter dives. All events will be held at the Rawstrom Natatorium at the Carpenter Sports Building.
John HaymanOn the women's side, the Blue Hens are led by Kristina Congdon and Caitlin Stockwell. Congdon was named CAA Women's Diver of the Week once this season and recorded a team-best score of 321.08 in the 3–meter event in the Iona/St. Peter's meet. Stockwell tallied UD's top point total of the season in the 1–meter competition with a score of 305.50 in the La Salle/Rider meet.
Congdon placed fifth in the 3-meter and sixth in the 1-meter at the 2014 CAA championships while Stockwell was sixth in the 3-meter and 11th in the 1-meter.
On the men's side, Delaware is led by Colin Hall and Patrick McCann (left). The duo has each been named CAA Men's Diver of the Week once this season.
Hall registered the best performance of the year in the 3-meter event with a score of 300.05 at the Bucknell Invitational. McCann posted a season-best for UD in the 3-meter competition with a score of 312.00 in the Iona/St. Peter's meet.
McCann finished fifth in the 3-meter and sixth in the 1-meter at the 2014 CAA Championships last February while Hall was seventh in the 1-meter event.
Saturday's docket will be comprised of the men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter competition, while Sunday's schedule will consist of the women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter events.
The preliminary dives will begin at 12 noon each day with the finals taking place at 7 p.m. on both days of competition. The finals of each event can be viewed live for free on CAA.TV.
This is the first year in which the CAA Diving Championships are being held at a different date and site than the CAA Swimming Championships. The swimming championships will take place Feb. 25-28 at the Richmond (Va.) Aquatic Center.
