Blue Hens Travel to South Carolina for Lexington County Tournament

The Blue Hens, who have not played since Feb. 13, will play four games in three days. UD will play two games Friday as the Hens face George Mason at 10 a.m. before taking on NJIT (1-1) for the first time in program history at 2 p.m.
Delaware (1-1) will then face Canisius Saturday at 3:30 p.m. and wrap up the weekend against the Griffins again on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Jim ShermanDelaware will be playing former CAA member George Mason (1-5) for the 79th time Friday. The Blue Hens and Patriots first played in 1971 and UD leads the all-time series 43-35. Delaware has won nine straight matchups vs. George Mason.
UD will face Canisius (4-3) for the fifth time in school history. The Blue Hens and Griffins first played in 2010 and Delaware leads the all-time series 3-1. The Hens won the most recent meeting between the schools by a 9-1 score in 2013.
Adam Davis will start for UD against George Mason and Chad Martin will get the nod vs. NJIT. Freshman Ron Marinaccio will make the first start of his career Saturday against Canisius, while Sunday's starter is undecided at this time.
HEN SCRATCHINGS:
· Delaware's starting pitchers have yet to surrender a run this season.
· UD has had eight games canceled because of weather thus far this season.
· Four Blue Hens lead the team with two hits on the year.
· Zach Lopes is the only Delaware hitter to hit a home run this season. The homer broke a scoreless tie in the ninth inning in Delaware's win over Georgetown.
· Lopes and Jeremy Ake lead the Hens with two RBI.
· Kevin Milley was credited with the win in UD's 3-0 victory over Georgetown, while Andrew Pechstein was credited with the loss against Wake Forest.
· Morehead State and UNC-Asheville are the other teams competing in this weekend's tournament.
· Delaware is scheduled to make its home debut Tuesday against Maryland. Maryland is ranked No. 12 in this week's D1Baseball.com Top 25 national poll, No. 16 in Baseball America, No. 18 in NCBWA, and No. 20 by both USA Today and Collegiate Baseball.
