Seven Run Fifth Inning Helps Baseball Secure Win Over St. Joe's

With the win, the Blue Hens overall record improves to 12-29 overall.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Jeremy Wolf, Noah Burroughs and Anthony Charles combined for 10 of Delaware's 13 hits offensively.
- Wolf led the way offensively, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs scored. Both Charles and Burroughs went 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Charles drew two walks and Burroughs scored three times.
- Dylan Bryan got the start on the mound and pitched one inning.
- Coming in relief was Matt Reyes, Jake Marchesano, Matthew Minckler, Evan Lewis and Jackson Hulcher.
- Reyes pitched four innings, struck out two batters, allowed four hits, and one earned run. He was credited with the win and is now 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UD started the game with a 3-0 lead after Sal Mineo was walked and LT Cockrill was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the second inning. The following inning, Cockrill drove in Mineo off a single.
- The fifth inning rally started after Anthony DeCesare reached first on a fielder's choice to score Burroughs. The following at-bat, Harry Carr hit a two-run home run, which was the first of his collegiate career.
- Delaware's rally continued with a Charles RBI single to right field that scored Wolf, followed by an Evan Bouldin walk with the bases loaded, a Sam Winsett sacrifice fly to center field, concluded with a Burroughs RBI single to the left field. UD had a 10-1 following the rally.
- The Blue Hens added to its lead in the top of the ninth when DeCesare drove in two runs off a single to right center, Wolf hit a sacrifice fly to right field, and Carr scored on a wild pitch.
- Wolf's four hits is his most as a Blue Hen, and is tied for a career-high. The last time he had four hits was on March 28, 2025 when he played for UNC Greensboro. He scored three runs for the third time this season, which is tied for a season-high.
- This is the second win over the Hawks for UD. The Blue Hens defeated St. Joe's 18-0 back on March 18 at Bob Hannah Stadium.
- The Blue Hens out-scored the Hawks 33-6 between the two games this season.
