After two days of competition, the Delaware women sit in fourth place with 207 points, while the UD men's squad is in fifth with 179 points. Towson leads the women's competition with 264 points and William & Mary lead the men's championship with point total of 245.
John Hayman. "We have set numerous school records so far and hopefully we can keep swimming at a high level for the remainder of
the competition."
Camp (left) touched first in the 500 freestyle event in a time of 4:24.05. The sophomore was able to best the previous UD record of 4:27.92 by Ryan Roberts by more than three seconds. Roberts had established the previous record at the 2013 CAA Championship.
Whyte's time of 22.59 in the 50 freestyle gave UD its second win of the night and broke her own record of 22.70 in the event, which was set at the CAA Championship last season.
The third school record of the night was posted in the women's 200 freestyle relay. The Blue Hen relay team of Dominique Montoya, Jordan Sawyer, Alyssa Sanders, and Whyte finished in second place and registered a new Delaware record of 1:31.86. The previous record of 1:32.49 was set in last year's CAA Championship by the relay team consisting of Montoya, Whyte, Maggie Tracy, and Mary Kay Harris.
Annie Nunes (right) set another UD record in the 200 individual medley as the sophomore swam the race in 2:01.35,
which broke her own record of 2:02.62 posted in last season's CAA Championship. Nunes' time earned her a fourth place finish.
The fifth and final record of the night was set in the men's 200 IM event by Everett Albert. The sophomore posted a first place finish in the "B" final of the event and his time of 1:49.67 broke Alex Hillsley's record of 1:50.63, which was established at the 2014 CAA Championship.
Alex Tooley also beat the old record as the junior finished fourth in the "A" final in a time of 1:49.84.
