Duo Selected for CAA All-Academic Teams

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware juniors Mike Furr (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Nataliya Naumova (Moscow, Russia/Moscow 98 School No. 1953) were chosen Wednesday as members of the Colonial Athletic Association All-Academic Tennis Team.
Furr is a two-time All-Academic Team honoree majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in bio-med. He leads the Blue Hens on the court and represents the team as the No. 1 singles player.
The men's championship starts Friday afternoon as the Blue Hens (0-15, 0-2 CAA) take on top-seeded UNCW (10-7) at 3 p.m.
The All-Academic accolades are the first for Naumova, who is majoring in economics and international relations. She has split time between No. 3 and No. 4 singles for Delaware this season and holds 38 career victories.
The Blue Hen women, the No. 8 seed, will open tournament play at 10 a.m. Thursday with first-round action against ninth-seeded Hofstra.
