WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware men's tennis team looks to knock off the top seed Friday morning in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament, held at the College of William & Mary's Millie West Tennis Facility and Commons Tennis Facility.
The eighth-seeded Blue Hens will face UNCW at 3 p.m. Friday to kick off tournament play. Delaware finished the regular season with an overall mark of 0-15 while the Seahawks were 10-7 on the year.
Chris HinckerA young squad, the Hens do not have a single senior on the roster and feature three talented freshmen in Shane Jeffray (Manasquan, N.J./Wall), Matt Renzi (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) and Colin Wong (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/SMK Kota Kemuning). The trio has posted 21 singles victories on the year.
The team also boasts experience from juniors Mike Furr (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) and Tim Puterio (Kingston, R.I./South Kingstown). Despite injury, Furr has guided the Hens in 19 No. 1 singles matches while Puterio has competed in 19 matches for Delaware.

Friday's winner will advance to Saturday's semifinal contest against No. 4 College of Charleston or No. 5 James Madison. The CAA men's championship match is slated for 2 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is free to all three days of the championship, with the winning squad earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
