Blue Hens Fall to Top-Seed UNCW, 4-0, in CAA Quarters

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware men's tennis team closed out its season Friday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to top-seed UNCW in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Quarterfinals at the College of William & Mary.
The Seahawks, who are ranked 63rd in the nation, collected a pair of 8-2 victories in doubles competition to take the 1-0 lead going into singles action.
UNCW followed with wins in the first, second and sixth flights.
UNCW's Santtu Leskinen opened play with a 6-1, 6-0 decision over junior Mike Furr (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) in the top spot before Sam Williams defeated UD freshman Shane Jeffray (Manasquan, N.J./Wall), 6-2, 6-1 in the second slot.
Andres Torres finished the day with a 6-1, 6-3 victory versus Blue Hen freshman Colin Wong (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/SMK Kota Kemuning).
With the loss, Delaware completes the campaign winless at 0-16.
