Seven Men, 13 Women Receive All-CAA Swimming and Diving Accolades

RICHMOND, Va. – Twenty members of the University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving team received All-Colonial Athletic Association honors Tuesday.
John HaymanCory Camp (bottom left) (Olney, Md./James Hubert Blake) led the way for Delaware as the sophomore posted All-CAA honors in the 500 and 1650 freestyle, and in the 400 IM event. The Olney, Md. native established new school records in all three races at the CAA Championships.
In the 500 freestyle, the sophomore posted a time of 4:24.05, while he swam the 1650 freestyle in 15:26.64. Camp's school-record time in the 400 IM was 3:50.90. Camp was All-Conference in the 1650 freestyle last season and was also named Rookie of the Year.
After establishing a new meet and school record at the CAA Championships, Tim Ware (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) was named All-CAA in the 100 backstroke. The senior's time was 46.90, which broke his own school record established at the 2014 AT&T Winter National Championships.
The lone men's relay team to receive all-conference honors was the 200 freestyle squad made up of Tomás Elder (Norman, Okla./Norman North), Greg Neidlinger (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn), Alex Hillsley (Port Matilda, Pa./State College Area), and Nicholas Badsky (Topeka, Kan./Washburn Rural). The quartet posted a season-best time of 1:21.27 in the competition at the CAA Championships.
Tim West (Glen Allen, Va./Mills E. Godwin) as selected to the CAA All-Academic team. The senior majors in biomedical engineering with a minor in computer science at Delaware. West has been named to the CAA Academic Honor Roll in each of his first three years at UD.
Morgan Whyte (bottom right) (Chevy Chase, Md./St. John's College HS) was awarded with a team-high five all-conference selections. The junior was named All-CAA in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Whyte was also a member of the all-conference 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, and 200 medley relay teams.
The Chevy Chase, Md. native recorded new school records at the CAA Championships in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Whyte swam the 50 freestyle in 22.59, while posting a time of 49.44 in the 100 freestyle.
In addition to Whyte, the 200 freestyle relay team consisted of Dominique Montoya (Morton, Pa./Ridley) Jordan Sawyer (Newark, Del./Newark) and Alyssa Sanders (Dover, Del./Milford). The all-conference Delaware 400 freestyle relay team was made up of Montoya, Whyte, Sanders, and Brittany Lazear (Newark, Del./Padua).
Lazear, Montoya, Laura Askin (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney), and Sarah Braatz (Newark, Del./Newark) were the members of the UD 800 freestyle relay team, while Sanders, Whyte, Annie Nunes (Wilmington, Del./Charter School of Wilmington), and Kristen Bishop (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny) made up the 200 medley relay squad.
After setting a new school record at the CAA Championships with a time of 4:18.74, Madeline Maher (Richboro, Pa./Germantown Academy) was selected All-CAA in the 400 IM event.
Calli Marando (Middletown, Del./Middletown) was the lone Blue Hens to make the women's All-Academic team. The senior is currently majoring in Biological Sciences at Delaware. Marando was selected to the CAA Academic Honor Roll in both her sophomore and junior campaigns.
Kristina Congdon (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and Caitlin Stockwell (San Jose, Calif./Presentation) received All-Conference diving honors. Congdon was named All-CAA in the 1-meter following her second place effort at the CAA Diving Championships. Stockwell received all-conference notoriety in the 3-meter event following the junior's third place finish at the CAA Diving Championship.
Student-athletes earned All-CAA honors by placing in the top three of their events at the CAA Swimming Championships and CAA Diving Championship. All other selections were made by the conference head coaches.
On the men's side, William & Mary's Jeremiah O'Donnell earned Swimmer of the Year, David Sanchez of Drexel was selected Diver of the Year, William & Mary's Evan Baker was named Rookie Swimmer of the Year and Devin Hall of UNCW was selected Rookie Diver of the Year. Matt Crispino of William & Mary was named CAA Swimming Coach of the Year, while UNCW's Beau Bunn earned Diving Coach of the Year honors.
On the women's side, Towson's Macey Arnold was selected Swimmer of the Year, James Madison sophomore Taryn McLaughlin was named Diver of the Year, Abby Mack of William & Mary was named Rookie Swimmer of the Year and Northeastern's Jacquelyn Gover was tabbed Rookie Diver of the Year. Towson's Pat Mead was selected Women's Swimming Coach of the Year, while Becky Benson of James Madison was named Diving Coach of the Year.
The UD women posted a dual record of 10-4 and finished in fourth in the overall standings at the CAA Championship, while the men recorded a 4-7 record and finished in the fifth at the season-ending conference meet.
