Calvin Scott Named CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – After a stellar stretch of games last week, University of Delaware freshman outfielder Calvin Scott was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, Monday.
The freshman batted .417 (5-12) with a double, home run, and five runs scored as Delaware went 3-1 in four road games last week.
The Newark, Del. native reached base four times and scored twice in a 10-8 win at Saint Joseph's Tuesday and posted a double and scored in Saturday's 10-4 victory at Elon. Scott recorded his first career home run in in Delaware's 11-9 win over the Phoenix on Sunday.
Scott drew five walks in last week's games and is currently riding a six-game hitting streak.
Blake Butler of College of Charleston was named CAA Player of the Week, while William & Mary's Jason Inghram received CAA Pitcher of the Week honors.
Delaware (21-21, 9-12 CAA) will conclude its regular season with a three-game series vs. Towson at Bob Hannah Stadium beginning Thursday. The Blue Hens need one win to clinch a berth in next week's CAA Tournament.
