GARNET VALLEY, Pa. – Hens All-Access, the multimedia arm of the University of Delaware Athletics Department, received word Tuesday that its piece, “Blue Hens Football Pro Day 2015” has been nominated for a 2015 Mid-Atlantic Emmy.
“This is a huge honor for us,” exclaimed Jimmy Smith, Delaware Assistant Athletics Director for Multimedia. “Our students work so hard and the fact they have been recognized at the highest level is such a proud moment for me. Long nights and countless hours go into everything we do and for the Mid-Atlantic Emmy board to witness this is very rewarding.”
Alumni Mike Windley '15 (now the Director of Video Services for the Colonial Athletic Association) and Sam Schwartz '15, alongside rising seniors Kyle Coulter, Richie Raspa, Sarah Ehrlich and Brad Wolak, shot, scripted and edited the entire piece, which follows 10 Delaware football seniors hoping to grab the attention of NFL scouts during Pro Day.
The feature is one of eight productions selected for the “Sports-Program Feature/Segment” category and is joined by the likes of Comcast SportsNet, WPSU Penn State and WHYY-TV.
The Mid-Atlantic Emmy® Awards feature organizations from Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and will be held September 19 at the Philadelphia Hilton.
