A pair of freshmen connected for Delaware's lone goal of the day as the Hens fell to Temple, 2-1, at the Temple Sports Complex Tuesday. Midfielder Fede Prieto notched his seventh goal of the season in the 47th minute. Prieto collected a cross from Arno Masson-Viale to tie things at 1-1 to open the second half of play. The Owls (9-5-1) broke the stalemate in the 78th minute as Matt Mahoney posted his first tally of the year. Todd Morton registered seven saves as the Hens fall to 9-5-1 overall this season.

· Guillermo Delgado holds 45 career goals and is just two behind Mike Biggs' program record 47 set from 1968-70. The three-time All-American is currently the NCAA's active career leader with 108 points and 45 goals.
· With an assist against the College of Charleston, Guillermo Delgado moved into a tie with Mark Haggerty (1983-85) for the all-time career mark of 18. Jaime Martinez is seventh place in program history with 14 career assists.
· Fede Prieto has scored at least one goal in five of the last six matches.
· Ben Sampson was named as a candidate for the Men's Soccer Senior CLASS Award.
· UD has outshot opponents, 211-136, so far this year.
· Delaware is currently second in the CAA with 12 points.
· Guillermo Delgado, Thomas de Villardi and Thibault Philippe garnered Preseason All-CAA accolades.

SERIES INFORMATION 💪
· Delaware and Elon have only met twice previously in program history with each team picking up a victory apiece. Both contests took place at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium.

· Last season featured a defensive battle between UD and the Phoenix, with No. 8 Elon registering the 1-0 victory.
· Chris Little (UNC Pembroke '00) is in his third year with the Phoenix and has posted a career mark of 30-14-8 (.654).
ABOUT ELON
The Phoenix is coming off its first back-to-back multi-goal performances this season with its contests against William & Mary (2-0) and Drexel (2-0). On the year, Elon is averaging 1.83 goals per match and is second overall in total goals with 22. The Phoenix currently paces the league in assists per game at 1.83. With nine goals on the year, Elijah Agu has the highest single-season goal total for the Phoenix since 2013. He leads the CAA in goals per game at 0.75 and is second overall in total points (19), points per game (1.58) and game-winning goals. Nick Adamczyk is second in the league in assists with five with Agu being the beneficiary of four of those. Defensively, the Phoenix is one of the best in the CAA and the country as the maroon and gold defense has allowed a league-low seven goals and only one in its five CAA matches. Keeper Matthew Jegier continues his impressive campaign in goal as he leads the CAA in goals against average at 0.55 and save percentage (.825) while ranking second overall in clean sheets with six.
