Blue Hen Swimming & Diving Teams Fall To UNCW on First Day of CAA Pod Meet

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The University of Delaware men's and women's swimming and diving teams each fell to UNCW on Saturday during the first day of a CAA pod meet hosted by James Madison.
The Blue Hen men's squad (1-2) lost to the Seahawks by a 205-70 score, while the UD women (1-3) dropped a 188.5-90.5 verdict to UNCW.
Mina Feyrer was the Blue Hens' lone multiple winner on the day, as she captured the 200 fly in 2:04.33 and 100 fly in 57.38 for the women's squad. Samantha Marino took the 200 back in 2:08.72, while also placing second in the 100 back with a time of 58.79.
Sarah Braatz finished second in the 200 free (1:55.53) and third in both the 100 free (53.89) and 500 free (5:12.11), while Annie Nunes was second in the 200 breast (2:27.92) to go with third place finishes in the 400 IM (4:37.12) and 100 breast (1:07.15).
Julia Capobianco came in third place in the 200 fly (2:11.24) and 100 fly (59.13), while Ellie Jogani was third in the 200 free (1:56.94) and Jordan Sawyer placed third in the 50 free (25.05). Additionally, Emma Larson posted a pair of fourth place finishes in the 1- and 3-meter diving events.
The UD 200 medley relay team of Alyssa Santangelo, Nunes, Feyrer and Sawyer finished second in its event in 1:48.25, while the 200 free relay squad of Melissa Manuelli, Braatz, Santangelo and Sawyer also placed second with a time of 1:40.09.
Cory Camp was the only event winner for the Delaware men, as he won the 500 free in 4:42.82 after placing third in the 200 free in 1:43.74. Patrick Savidge was second in the 400 IM (4:03.34) and third in the 100 breast (59.99), while Asher Kiely posted a second place finish in the 100 back (52.93) and a third place result in the 200 back (1:55.72).
Tomas Elder came in third in both the 100 free (48.22) and 100 fly (52.70), while Andrew Woerth was third in the 50 free (22.02) and Kevin Basch placed third in the 500 free (4:47.20). Aaron Nolan also finished third in both diving events.
The 200 medley relay team of Kiely, Chris Cornell, Woerth and Brad Donohue finished second in its race with a time of 1:36.05, while the 200 free relay squad of Elder, Kiely, Donohue and Woerth also placed second in 1:28.33.
