Brian Coonce. “It's always nice having an event like this at our home pool. I'm looking forward to my divers doing well this weekend and posting some top eight (scoring) finishes.”
University of Delaware divers will figure prominently in the event with seniors Kristina Congdon and Caitlin Stockwell leading the women and junior Luke Winkler and senior Colin Hall pacing the men.
Congdon won weekly CAA honors two times this season and placed sixth on the 3-meter and second on the 1-meter at last year's championship. She also was fifth in the 1-meter in 2013, fifth in the 3-meter in 2014, and sixth in the 1-meter in 2014. Stockwell also held her own, placing third and seventh on the same boards in 2015 and sixth in the 3-meter in 2014.
Winkler took home three weekly diving honors this season while Hall placed ninth and sixth, respectively, on the 1 and 3-meter boards at last year's championship. Hall also was seventh on the 1-meter board during the 2014 season.
Drexel's David Sanchez is the defending men's three-meter champion and placed third in the one-meter event a year ago on the way to winning CAA Men's Diver of the Year honors. On the women's side, James Madison Olivia Lehman placed second on the three-meter and third on the one-meter a year ago.
