WILMINGTON, N.C. – Junior Erika Brown (Paterson, N.J./John F. Kennedy) reached 1,000 career points Sunday afternoon as Delaware picked up the 56-44 victory over UNCW at Trask Coliseum.
With a jumper from the free throw line with 7:10 in the second quarter, Brown became the 26th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. The guard finished the day with 10 points and tied a season-high with seven rebounds.
Senior Courtni Green (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) led Delaware (15-13, 10-7 CAA) with 12 points, all of which came from behind the arc, to go along with three rebounds and three steals. Green passed the 1,000-point plateau earlier this season.
Freshman Nicole Enabosi (Gaithersburg, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) gathered her fifth double double of the year with 10 points and 14 rebounds in 28 minutes of action.
Shatia Cole posted 18 points, four rebounds, three steals and three assists for the Seahawks (7-21, 3-14 CAA).
“Despite their numbers, UNCW is a tough team, especially on their home court. Holding them to 44 points means we played a good defensive game. We shared the ball well, we found the open shooters and we went inside. Overall, we played well, made good decisions and trusted each other.”
[On Erika Brown]: “I'm proud of Erika. To reach 1,000 career points is an accomplishment and she joins an elite club. Today, she played a very good floor game and played under control.”

“We're a very good team when we all play together. I'm blessed [to have reached 1,000 career points] and happy that I can reach this accomplishment during my junior year. I have to give credit to my teammates because they find me. I'm more of a scorer than a rebounder, but hustle rebounds matter and we had to chase them down today.”
