“Dominick and Bryce will be exceptional additions to the Delaware tennis family,” remarked Maximo. “Both have exceptional leadership qualities on and off the court, are multi-sport athletes and are excellent students.”
Perez, a native of Bethesda, Md. and current senior at Gonzaga College High, is a three-time Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Singles Champion that posted a career mark of 40-5 in singles play entering the 2016 spring season.
In doubles action, Perez is a two-time conference champion with a mark of 24-2 over three years.
A Washington Post Spring 2015 All-Met First Team honoree, Perez is also a member of Spanish Honors Society at GCHS. No stranger to Delaware tennis, his cousin, Camilo Perez, was a member of the Blue Hens men's tennis squad from 2007-10.
“We look forward to the opportunity to work with 'Dom' on his collegiate tennis journey,” Maximo stated. “He excels with his fitness and will be a leader for us on the court, in the weight room and in the locker room.”
Hailing from Midlothian, Va., DePew is an All-District Academic
selection from James River High School. The 2013 Virginia State Hard Court Boy's 16s Singles Champion, he also ranked within the Top 15 in the Mid-Atlantic Section.
During his time at JRHS, DePew has been a member of the Center for Leadership and International Relations, Dean's List, Beta Club, Key Club and National Society of High School Scholars while supporting childhood cancer research as an event coordinator for the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
DePew is coached by his father, John DePew, who played collegiately at Wake Forest and Richmond.
“Bryce is a tenacious and smart player who will add variety and additional energy to our team,” commented Maximo. “He has achieved success on the court and in the classroom and will be a great addition.”
