Cedano Wins Hammer Throw?s University Division On First Day of Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Blue Hen junior Irene Cedano won the university division of the hammer throw on Thursday as the University of Delaware women's track and field team competed in the first day of the Colonial Relays.
Cedano recorded a career-best throw of 153'11” in the finals to finish first out of 30 athletes. Jade Francis finished eighth in the hammer throw championships division with a mark of 151'3”, while Sarah Hillman placed 11th with a 142'2” toss.
UD freshman Lauren Zodl finished in second place in the 3000 meter run with a UD freshman record and ECAC qualifying time of 9:47.89, while Betsy Erlanger was 29th in 10:42.06 and Madeline Berman came in 52nd with a time of 11:32.00.
The Colonial Relays continue on Friday beginning at 9 a.m.
