Blue Hen Freshman Kevin Mohollen Named CAA Baseball Co-Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. -- University of Delaware freshman outfielder Kevin Mohollen was named the Colonial Athletic Association Baseball Co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Mohollen (Wallingford, Pa./Strath-Haven) batted .467 (7 for 15) with a double, triple, homer and seven runs scored as the Blue Hens won three of four games during the week.
He went 4 for 5 with four runs scored and an RBI during last Tuesday's 12-7 win over Maryland, and finished 2 for 2 with a double, run scored and two walks during Sunday's 5-3 loss to UMass Lowell. Mohollen concluded the week with another single and scored a run during the 4-2 victory over Delaware State later that day.
Mohollen, who has batted leadoff and started in centerfield during all 10 games on the season, leads the Blue Hens with 16 hits, 11 runs scored, two triples and three stolen bases. He is tied for fourth in the CAA in hits, and tied for fifth in batting average and runs scored.
Mohollen shared CAA Rookie of the Week award with Towson shortstop Richie Palacios. James Madison shortstop Chad Carroll was selected the league's Player of the Week, while Charleston righthander Bailey Ober was tabbed the Pitcher of the Week.
Mohollen and the Blue Hens (6-4) take on Maryland on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Harford Community College.
