Hillman Wins Discus Title, Blue Hens Post Third Place Finish at Princeton Invitational

Another big day was put in by freshman Jeannette Bendolph won placed fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:13.49. That mark set a new Delaware freshman record, surpassing the previous standard of 2:13.53 set by teammate Liz McGroarty last season.
Jackson had a big day on the track as she placed third in the 200 meters (25.00), was fourth in the 100 meters (12.27), and teamed with Leslie Ope, Paige Thompson-Charles, and La'tazah Coleman to place second in the 4 x 100 meter relay with an ECAC qualifying time of 47.75.
Bailey also had an outstanding day as she placed second in the pole vault (11-11.75) and third in the long jump (18-0.5). Also for the Hens, Liz McGroarty was third in the 1,500 meters (4:31.69/ECAC Qualifier), Lauren Zodl was third in the 3,000 meters (10:05.43), and Molly Doyle was third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:01.58).
Delaware will continue action this coming weekend when the Hens host the Delaware Classic Apr. 23 at Grant Stadium.
