Student-Athletes Reach Out to Supporters During Annual Delaware Athletics Thank-A-Thon

Rolf van de Kerkhof, head coach of the three-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champion UD field hockey team. “It also allows us to further educate our current student-athletes that one day the Blue Hens are counting on them paying it forward and on welcoming their support, donations, and investment in the student-athletes that will follow them.”
Van de Kerkhof noted that one night last week while he was working in his office at 6:30 p.m., a call came in from just a few doors away thanking him for his donation.
“During our conversation I thanked her – one of my current players – for reaching out to me, but I also shared that it is my hope that years from now she will receive a phone call from a field hockey student-athlete thanking her for her contributions while she was at UD.”
