Rookie Fede Prieto posted a season-best two goals Wednesday evening as Delaware shutout Drexel, 2-0, at Vidas Field. The shutout is the sixth of the season for the Blue Hens, who improve to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in CAA action. Prieto headed in UD's first goal of the evening in the 13th minute following the assist from Jaime Martinez. With less than two minutes remaining until halftime, the midfielder picked up his fourth goal of the season to give the Hens the final 2-0 advantage. Todd Morton registered two saves for his 12th career shutout.

· The Blue Hens are receiving votes in the latest NSCAA Division I rankings and are No. 5 in the NSCAA Midwest Regional poll. The next poll will be released on Tuesday, October 4.
· Delaware is 45-78-16 (.381) all-time in CAA play; however, UD has posted a conference mark of 25-15-9 (.602) since 2011. In that span, the Hens have earned four trips to the CAA Tournament Finals while claiming the 2011 league title.
· UD is 8-2 to start the year for the first time since 2013.
· The Hens have never before opened CAA play with a 3-0 record.
· Delaware has outshot opponents, 162-74, so far this year.
· Ben Sampson was named the CAA Player of the Week after registering a career-high two goals, including the game-winner, Saturday evening as the Hens defeated Northeastern, 4-0.
· Guillermo Delgado is the NCAA's active career points (102) and goals (43) leader.
· Delgado's 43 goals is just behind Mike Biggs' career record of 47 goals set from 1968-70.
· With an assist against Northeastern, Delgado moved into a tie for second place in program history with 16 career helpers alongside Roberto Giménez (2011-13), Bob Young (1983-85) and John Petito (1978-82). Mark Haggerty (1983-85) holds the all-time career mark of 18.
· With an assist at Drexel, Jaime Martinez moved into a tie for seventh place in program history with 13 career helpers alongside Dan Keane (1998-01), Ken Whitehead (1980-82) and Chris Donahue (1973-76).
· Guillermo Delgado, Thomas de Villardi and Thibault Philippe garnered Preseason All-CAA accolades.
· Guillermo Delgado, a three-time All-American, was one of 28 men nationally named MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.

SERIES INFORMATION 💪
· Delaware is 12-16-1 all-time against the Pride since the first matchup in 1985.
· Last season, Hofstra won the regular season matchup, 1-0, in double overtime at home before knocking off the Blue Hens by a tally of 2-0 in the CAA Championship match, also in Hempstead.
· The last three of four games against HU have gone into overtime, including double overtime in two of those.
· In the last meeting in Newark, Delaware picked up the 2-1 double overtime win on Oct. 15, 2014. Guillermo Delgado broke the gridlock with 16 seconds remaining in the second overtime to hand the Pride their first CAA loss of the year.
· A former professional soccer player in England and the 2015 CAA Coach of the Year, Richard Nuttall (Carnegie '84) is in his 28th season as the head coach of the Hofstra men's soccer program. During his tenure, the Pride has posted a mark of 255-220-58 (.533).
ABOUT HOFSTRA
While not receiving votes in the national poll, the Pride are currently ranked No. 9 in the NSCAA Midwest Regional Poll and are behind fellow CAA competitors UNCW (No. 3), Delaware (No. 5), William & Mary (No. 6) and Elon (No. 7). Earlier this week, freshman Luke Brown scored twice in the second half to help lift Hofstra to a 3-0 win at Northeastern. The Pride, the only other team that holds a 3-0 mark in conference play, has outscored its CAA opponents, 9-0, and has allowed just two shots on goal in its three league matches. Additionally, HU has allowed just one goal over its past six games, with only No. 3 Syracuse finding the back of the net over that span. Junior Danny Elliott, the CAA's Co-Player of the Week next to UD's Ben Sampson, leads the team with four goals while senior Joseph Holland ties him with eight points on two goals and four assists. The Pride have seen three different players hold court between the pipes, but sophomore Leonard Arkhanhelskyl has led the way with 526 minutes played, four goals allowed (0.69 GAA) and 11 saves (.733).
