Hens Continue Play on Day 2 of ITA Atlantic Regional

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Delaware continued action Friday at the ITA Atlantic Regional, hosted by Liberty University at the Cook Tennis Center and Hershey-Esbenshade Tennis Courts.
The Blue Hens showed success in the doubles bracket as graduate student Dustin Britton (North Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) and sophomore Curran Verma (Gaithersburg, Md./Laurel Springs) paired for the 8-5 victory over Saint Joseph's Andre Fick and Luis Janko in the Round of 64. The duo will now face Virginia's Ammar Alhogbani and Jefferson Dockter at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Sophomore Laurenz Lankes (Cologne, Germany) and freshman Justice Jones (Laurel, Md./JTCC Academy) also appeared in the doubles bracket, but fell, 8-3, to the second-seeded team of Carlo Donato and Alexandre Ribeiro from Virginia Tech.
Delaware also competed in the singles main draw, but dropped hard-fought contests against players from George Washington, Virginia Tech, Temple and VCU.
