University of Delaware First Baseman Nick Patten Honored by D1Baseball.com

NEWARK, Del.-- University of Delaware sophomore Nick Patten (Butler, Pa./IMG Academy) was selected one of the top 40 first baseman in the nation at the NCAA Division I level , by D1Baseball.com.
Slotting in at number 37, Patten was the top selection among Colonial Athletic Association first baseman.
Jim ShermanComing off a season where he batted .285 with 12 home runs and 46 RBIs, Patten was also named to the Preseason All-CAA first team back in January. At the end of last season, he was named a CBM/Louisville Slugger All-American and was named to the conference All-Rookie team.
Overall, Patten is one eight returning starters to the 2017 Delaware baseball squad, which was projected to finish fourth in the CAA this season by the league coaches, and had four All-CAA honorees.
The Blue Hens open the season against Pittsburgh on Feb. 18 in Kissimmee, Fla.
