MURFEESBORO, N.C. – Junior Colin Wong (Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia/SMK Kota Kemuning) notched his team-leading 15th win of the season, but Delaware was unable to garner any momentum as Chowan defeated the Hens, 8-1, at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.
Wong took the lone win for Delaware (6-11) as collected the 6-3, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles over Adi Kaliaperov for his second straight triumph and to move to 3-0 in top-flight play this season.
Sophomore Blaise Casselbury (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) nearly pulled out the victory in the second spot, but fell to Farid Hajizada, 6-1, 4-6, 10-4.
“This was a disappointing loss as we came out flat in both doubles and singles. Our energy and efforts could have been better, but I give Chowan credit for taking advantage of big opportunities.”
