Delaware Places Seventh at Villanova Invitational

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Delaware men's tennis finished seventh in this weekend's Villanova Invitational.
The Blue Hens wrapped the third day of action with a 2-1 loss to the host Wildcats before defeating Saint Joseph's, 2-1, in the seventh place matchup.
Sophomore Curran Verma (Gaithersburg, Md./Laurel Springs) won his third singles match of the season as he came from behind to top Villanova's Daniel Martinez, 6-7 (6), 7-5, 6-3.
Freshman Nathan Benyowitz (Los Angeles, Calif./Shalhevet) and sophomore Luis Marcano (Kralendijk, Bonaire/Sagemont (Fla.)) each collected their second singles victory on the weekend in contests against the Hawks.
Benyowitz routed Mike Santa Lucia, 6-4, while Marcano posted the 6-3, 6-4 victory over Sam Sauter.
