PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – In the city where, "Trust the Process" is uttered on a daily basis, the University of Delaware women's soccer team is doing just that.
The Blue Hens once again, dominated the second half, but came up short in a 2-0 decision at the hands of CAA rival Drexel on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Drexel Athletic Complex.
Four of Delaware's five CAA games have been decided by one goal.
Sunday's matchup started with both teams trading possession early, but the Dragons began pressuring the Blue Hens late in the first half.
The pressure finally broke through with less than 10 minutes left when Drexel was able to slide their first goal through to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Delaware would come out with a fire in the second half, dominating the ball and making the Dragons work for every possession. Elizabeth Weimer and Sara D'Appolonia would both have chances midway through the stanza, but Drexel was able to hold strong.
In the waning moments of the game, the Dragons snuck another goal in to secure the 2-0 CAA win.

"We've been really good in second half and I thought we were good again today in the second half. We're still learning how to compete and how to win. You have to make sure you're ready to play two halves of soccer and we weren't there today. That's on me as a head coach to make sure we're ready to play from the start. The good news is that the second half was a good showing of what we can do and it's an opportunity for us to learn and get better." – Head Coach Mike Barroqueiro
"We have to stay the course. We've been playing well. We've put together some good performances already in conference play, but just haven't gotten the results yet. Today was not as complete of a performance as we've seen, but that's part of the process and we're going to continue to work every single day to fight for each other." – Head Coach Mike Barroqueiro
