Delaware Women Take Down Rider and La Salle

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware swimming and diving program wrapped up their home meet against Rider and La Salle on Saturday afternoon. The women took down Rider 213-86 and La Salle 214-85 while the men fell to the Broncs 201.5-91.5 and La Salle, 185.00-101.00.
The women were dominant today, picking up 11 wins on the day. Gabrielle Acker finished first in the 1,000-yard free race with a time of 10:39.67.
Elizabeth Jogani swam her second-best 200-yard free race for the win with a time of 1:55.22. Jogani also won the 200-yard IM after a 2:10.44.
Amy Nemeth had her second-best 100-yard back time of the season when she won with a 58.73. Nemeth earned another win with a season-best 53.30 in the 100-yard free.
Mina Feyrer picked up another win in the 200-yard fly, this time with a time of 2:06.48.
Athena Cimino put down the best 50-yard free time of the season for the Blue Hens when she won the race with a 24.73.
Kayla Borrero won the 200-yard back with her season-best time of 2:08.87.
Taylor Dragnosky won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.08.
Madelin Gillman won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:13.45.
In the relays for the women, Amy Nemeth, Taylor Dragnosky, Melissa Manuelli and Athena Cimino earned a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.29. Kayla Borrer, Madelin Gillman, Mina Feyrer and Allison Gozdan finished second with a time of 1:49.48.
UD's squad of Amy Nemeth, Elizabeth Jogani, Melissa Manuelli and Anthen Cimino took first in the 400-yard free relay after a tie of 3:38.43.
On the men's side, Kevin Basch earned a 1,000-yard free win with a time of 9:43.43. Basch also took first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:42.08.
Asher Kiely finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 52.89.
Chris Cornell took silver in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.59.
Delaware is back in action on November 16 at the Magnus Cup in Cleveland. The meet is hosted by Cleveland State University.
