Delaware Honors Four Seniors as UD Falls to JMU, 3-0

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware wrapped up its season with a 3-0 (30-28, 25-22, 25-16) loss to James Madison inside the Bob Carpenter Center on Sunday afternoon. Delaware will finish the year at 9-18 and 3-13 in the CAA while JMU improved to 21-6 and 13-3. UD's four seniors – Corey Perkins, Brooke Robertson, Abby Skryd and Sonja Vukosavljevic – were honored before the match.

"I am so proud of this group of seniors," head coach Sara Matthews said. "They have been such an integral part of this program and their leadership will be sorely missed. CP (Corey Perkins) went in and played so great today putting away balls. Sonja (Vukosavljevic) brought great leadership and energy. Abby (Skyrd) played her heart out tonight, so happy she went in and played so well. And Brooke (Robertson), what can I say about that kid. Such a joy to have in the gym every single day. We I'll definitely miss all of them."

Senior Brooke Robertson hit .381 with 11 kills – the second most on the team. Junior Maria Bellinger posted 13 terminations for the team high. Senior Corey Perkins registered four hammers, while junior Cailey Bracken matched her. Delaware had 39 hammers has a team.

Senior Abby Skryd led the offense with 31 assists. Skryd also posted a double-double after 11 digs and she also added a block and two kills. Delaware hit .116 as a team.

Junior Andie Haus had a match-high 24 digs. Bracken posted 13 while freshman Maddie Judge joined Skyrd with 11 scoops. Junior Kori Rasmussen had four scoops while Bellinger and junior Bailey Pearlman had three.

Delaware had 2.5 team blocks, with Bracken, Robertson, Skyrd, sophomore Julia Hayes and Bellinger each recording one.

Skryd and Bellinger each had two aces while Robertson had one.
