Dickey Collects Another Double Double; Delaware Falls to Bradley, 59-47
11/23/2018 5:38:00 PM | Women's Basketball
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Freshman Jasmine Dickey logged her third double double of the season, but it wasn't enough as Delaware fell to Bradley, 59-47, as part of the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament at the FAU Arena Friday afternoon.
Dickey, who had nine rebounds in the first 10 minutes of the game, finished the day with a season-best 18 rebounds to go along with 11 points, two steals and an assist.
Redshirt senior Gadson Lefft added her second straight game with double figure scoring by posting 10 points and six rebounds while junior Samone DeFreese tallied eight rebounds and seven points against the Braves.
Bradley (3-0) held a one-point advantage at halftime, but outscored the Hens (2-3), 19-10, in the third and Delaware was never able to fully recover.
POST-GAME QUOTES
Head Coach Natasha Adair
"When the shots aren't falling, the one thing you can control is defense and I just thought we were a step too slow all day. Defense is all about grit, toughness and effort and we just didn't control the controllables today. You have to give credit to Bradley as they made the shots and defensive stops that they needed to in the right moments. Today is disappointing, but you have to have a short memory because we'll be out there again in less than 18 hours."
