Men's Tennis Posts 6-1 Triumph Over Chestnut Hill

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Blue Hens returned to the win column Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 victory over Chestnut Hill at DuPont Country Club.

Delaware (3-2) cruised to the team doubles point by sweeping the Griffins (2-1), who were ranked No. 5 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division II East Regional Rankings, with all three matches ending in a 6-3 score.

In singles play, freshman Justice Jones garnered the first win of the afternoon with a 6-1, 6-4 decision over Pedro Regalin in the fifth flight.

Classmate Guilherme Valdoleiros followed with a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Adam Gavin for his fourth No. 4 singles win of the season.

Senior Colin Wong clinched the team triumph by topping Antonie Gautier in the second spot, 7-5, 6-2 while junior Blaise Casselbury picked up the 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 decision versus Lucas Bocaletto in the third spot.

Freshman Curran Verma wrapped the day with a hard fought, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 top flight victory over Felix Andre.
