PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton came out strong and the Blue Hens were unable to respond Saturday afternoon as Delaware fell to the Tigers, 7-0, at Jadwin Gymnasium.
Junior Sara Komer and sophomore Brooke Pilkington paired for the 6-3 doubles win over Nicole Kalhorn and Stephanie Schrage in the top flight.
The results weren't as favorable for UD (0-2) in the singles matches as Princeton (2-0) swept the Hens and did not allow any three-set contests.
POST-MATCH QUOTES
Head coach Laura Travis
“This was a challenging day against a tough Princeton team. In singles, we made execution improvements and tactical adjustments, which will help us in the long run. I'm proud of Sara [Komer] and Brooke [Pilkington] for keeping the pressure on and closing out their doubles match.
